Son of well known poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan. He has a brother named Ajitabh. He completed his education from Uttar Pradesh and moved to Bombay to find work as a film star, in vain though, as film-makers preferred someone with a fairer skin, and he was not quite fair enough. But they did use one of his other assets - his deep baritone voice - which was used for narration and background commentary. He was successful in being cast in Saat Hindustani. He got his break in Bollywood after a letter of introduction from the then Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi, as he was a friend of her son Rajiv Gandhi. This is how Amitabh made an entry in Bollywood, starting with Zanjeer, co-starred with his future wife-to-be Jaya Bhaduri, and since then there has been no looking back. He married Jaya Bhaduri, an actress in her own rights, he has two kids, Shweta and Abhishek. Shweta has been married, lives a non-filmy life and has a child. The trademark deep baritone voice, the tall, brooding persona, and intense eyes, made Amitabh Bachchan the ideal "Angry Young Man" in the 1970s, thereby changing the face of Hindi cinema. The son of the late poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan, he was born in Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh. After completing his education from Sherwood College, Nainital, and Kirori Mal College, Delhi University, he moved to Calcutta to work for shipping firm Shaw and Wallace. Later, he moved to Bombay and struggled for a while to get his foot in the door of the Hindi film industry. The lanky, dark, and intensely brooding persona did not go down well with directors who were looking for wise-cracking, fair, loverboys - the trademark of the Indian hero in the 1960s. Starting with the low key Saat Hindustani, Bachchan struggled through many roles and was relegated at times to doing voice-overs and in one instance playing a deaf-mute (his deep baritone voice might have overshadowed the other actors!). Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942 in Allahabad. He is the son of late poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan did his schooling from Sherwood College, Nainital and later on pursued a degree in science from the Delhi University. His first job was in Shaw Wallace and later worked as a freight broker for a shipping firm called Bird and Co. But his destiny had something else to offer and it was the journey to stardom. He made his debut in the film Saat Hindustani (1969) which was directed by K.A. Abbas. Film failed on the box-office but Amitabh was noticed by film makers like Hrishikesh Mukherji and Sunil Dutt. The Eighties
He made his debut in Ketan Mehta’s Holi in 1984. The film also had Ashutosh Gowariker as part of its cast, who was a friend of Aamir and later went on to direct the award winning Lagaan. But it was in 1988, with the release of Mansoor Khan’s Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, loosely adapted from Romeo and Juliet, which brought Aamir into the limelight. The film was a big favourite among film-goers and Aamir won the Filmfare Best Debut Actor Award. He received several nominations for the Filmfare Best Actor Award until he finally nailed it in 1996. A Step Back In Time
Aamir Khan celebrates his birthday on 14th March. He was born on 1965 in Mumbai to Tahir and Zeenat Hussain. He has three siblings Faisal, Farhat, and Nikhat. The film industry was part of his life growing up as many members of his family were a part of it like his father, his late uncle Nasir Hussain, and his cousin Mansoor Khan. Salman the eldest son of scriptwriter Salim Khan (of the famous Salim-Javed duo who penned Sholay, Deewar, Zanjeer and many more blockbusters, and created the angry young man icon in Amitabh Bachchan in the 70's) made an inauspicious debut over a decade ago in "Biwi Ho To Aisi". He was ridiculed and made fun of before Sooraj Barjatya's "Maine Pyaar Kiya" turned him into a household name and an heartthrob of millions. Now to think that Sooraj Barjatya was nearly pressurised into dropping Salman from his directorial debut! In fact, even papa Salim confesses that had he been in the young director's place, "I might have been hesitant (to take Salman)." But Sooraj's faith in Salman wasn't shaken and "Maine Pyaar Kiya" turned them both in tinsel town hottest properties. However, despite the film's success, Salman was candid enough to admit that he had made little contribution to the Barjatya blockbuster. In fact, as far as he was concerned, he was just okay giving himself just "three out of ten marks". But that was a pretty good score for somebody who had once upon a time flirted with the dreams of becoming a swimmer or a pilot, and had been dismissed by the film industry. The success of the candy floss love story, was followed by a handful of hits, like "Baaghi", "Sanam Bewafa", "Patthar Ke Phool" and "Saajan". However, the golden run was too good to last. A few bad choices of film roles and his popularity suddenly "nose-dived" in the early 90s, a downward journey that coincided with his unpopularity with a press that found him too intimidating and unapproachable.
And then once again came Sooraj Barjatya to the rescue with "Hum Aapke Hain Kaun". While the movie made box office history, Salman Khan suddenly found a new facet to his acting persona, his flair for seemigly effortless comedy. Daughter of the famous badminton player, Prakash Padukone, Deepika was born on January 5, 1986. She took to modelling at an early age, while still in college and was a supermodel before she turned to acting. Her height, slenderness and fresh looking face have gone a long way in making her a supermodel.
During her modelling years, Deepika has been the face of almost all the famous Indian brands such as Liril, Dabur Lal powder, Close Up and Limca. She has received many prestigious modelling offers, which included becoming the brand ambassadorship of the Jewels of India.
She hit the international scene when cosmetic giants Maybelline made her their international spokesperson. At the 5th annual Kingfisher Fashion Awards she was awarded the title 'Model of the Year'. Narendra Damodardas Modi (Devnagri: नरेन्द्र दामोदरदास मोदी, Gujarati: નરેન્દ્ર દામોદરદાસ મોદી[nəɾɛn̪d̪ɾə d̪ämod̪əɾd̪äs mod̪i]; born 17 September 1950[1]) is the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Gujarat since 7 October 2001 making him the longest serving Chief Minister of the state of Gujarat.[2]
Born in a middle class family in Vadnagar, a member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh since childhood, and an active politician since early in life having a masters degree in political science, Modi, along with Keshubhai Patel was seen as a hardliner early on and his coming to the fore in BJP led to a shakeup in the organization with Shankarsingh Vaghela leaving the party. In 1998, he was chosen by L K Advani to direct the election campaign in Gujarat as well as Himachal Pradesh. His aggressive and confident style was successful in the midst of failure to unite between Vaghela's RJP and Congress and the campaign culminated in a victory leading to Keshubhai becoming the chief minister in March, 1998.
Due to his successful direction of campaign in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, Modi, who was working at national level then, was promoted to become general secretary soon after.
He became Gujarat's Chief Minister in October 2001, promoted to the office at a time when his predecessor Keshubhai Patel had resigned, following the defeat of BJP in the by-elections.
He was re-elected in December 2002 as chief minister with 127 seats in the 182-member assembly. His term has been praised by leading industrialists[3][4] and religious leaders[5] for outstanding administration for turning Gujarat into an economic powerhouse and controlling terrorism. He has been criticised for alleged mismanagement of and alleged complicity in the2002 Gujarat violence, for which the United States government has instituted a ban on him traveling to that country.[6][7]

He was elected again for a third term[9] on 23 December 2007 with an emphatic win in the state elections, which he had cast as a "referendum on his rule".[10][11]
Some members of Corporate India consider him as a potent "future Prime Minister of India". These views were openly kept forward at the "Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit" (VGGIS) by Reliance ADAG chairman Anil Ambani, who called him "the next leader of India (Future Prime Minister)”. Bharti Airtel chief Sunil Mittal, too, have openly acknowledged this view by stating that “if there is a CEO who can lead this country, it is Narendra Modi”.[12]
